Hi! I live in Jaffrey, New Hampshire (near the base of Mount Monadnock) and work in the North Middlesex Regional School District in Townsend, MA. I have been a nurse for 35 years and a school nurse for the last 25. My background is in maternal-child health and I worked in both hospital and community settings in a variety of places (including a Navajo reservation in NM, various locations in South America, and New England) before settling into school nursing. I am currently the Supervisor of Health Services in a regional school district with 7 schools and around 3,000 students.
I am in the MSN Nursing Education track at St. Joseph's College of Maine. I have always enjoyed teaching; in the school and in the community, students, staff and nurses. Choosing the Nursing Education track just seemed to make sense for me. I have also always loved to travel and I am currently a presenter for the School Nurse Emergency Triage Training offered by the National Association of School Nurses. One of my professional goals is to expand this to the point where I am able to travel and teach programs for school nurses on a variety of topics.
On a personal note, I am married and have 4 children. Our youngest 2 are still home with us and they are in 10th and 11th grade. With our children, we are very active with Destination Imagination, Project Shakespeare (a youth theater acting troupe), and music/drama.
